Midway

Midway between the Rockies and the Pacific Ocean, this small town is mainly a lumber town which started as a farming and mining community. The “great Railroad War” (more like a hockey brawl) took place here, Ranald McDonald, one of the first westerners to visit and live in Japan is buried just south of Midway. The area was part of the great mining boom at the end of the last century and gold can be found in the river.
