Why I want to go to this place
Saw a picture of Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks in a copy of the Rough Guide to the Pacific Northwest – it was instant love.

Worth visiting!
Why I recommend this place to visitors
10 minutes from the famous (and vastly overrated, IMO) Lake Louise is this far more beautiful, yet somehow far less well known lake. Its color is unlike anything you’ve ever seen, and the moraine which lends the lake its name is full of ancient fossils, and offers a beautiful view if you climb to its top.
Give Louise a miss and go here instead. It’s worth it.
