Lebowski Fest

I went to this year’s (2007) Lebowski Fest in Louisville, Kentucky. I was more interested in the bands that were performing than the bowling contest. But the atmosphere at Lebowski Fest is imbued with the tone of The Dude. Everyone is extremely chill and relaxed. It was like a weekend summer camp. You make friends on the first day and spend the next two days drinking at patio bars and bowling lanes.

I guess a traveling event like Lebowski Fest breaks 43places structure, since I went to the Seattle one, not the Louisville one.

Lebowski Fest is an amazing couple of days. We bowled alongside Liam who was kind enough to do his belly shake for everyone. Fantastic.

I went to the 3rd annual fest in June 2004. It was two nights and two days of drinking and awesome people and really really funny things happening. And bowling, can’t forget about bowling. My roommate and I won the furthest distance traveled, because we drove from Seattle to get there. In two and a half days. We were fast.

I’ve been in L.A. too, but that’s another story.
