Amoeba Music

Once in high school when we would take family trips to San Francisco, I thumbed through the phone book and looked for a used record store. That is how I discovered the wonderful shops in the Haight (and squealed with delight). However, nothing could prepare me for my first trip to Berkeley when I was in college and had loads of $ to blow (who needs textbooks?). Not a tiny crevice of a shop, but several levels of new/used/cds/vinyl/video/dvd/etc. HEAVEN! If you can’t find it at Amoeba, walk over to Rasputin. If you can’t find it there, hop across the bay to the Haight. By the time the day is done, you should have reached musical satisfaction.
