If you want to be in a silent environment and enjoy to be sorrounded by nature and natural sounds, visit Chepu River Valley. Mirador de Chepu rents kayaks to visit the wetlands while paddling accross calm waters. One amazing activity that is offerd at the Mirador de Chepu is KAYAKING AT DAWN. You must have a tent or rent one there, to sleep at the place and wake up at 5:30 am, get on your kayak and start an adventure into the morning mist and birds awakening songs. At 6:00 am app sunrise begin to shine over the river in between the mist and shows the poetry of calm waters and dead logs while the river moves you slowly.

It’s a quiete and beautiful place)

this island is dotted with old fishing villages built of nice wooden houses some over 200 years old. Also, there is really good seafood and an interesting and rarely visited nature reserve.

I wish I had seen more of this place. The impression I get is there are lots of interesting things to see on Chiloe, but none of them are on the main road across the island, and because of who I was with, all I saw was the main road across the island.

When my parents went a few years later they saw pretty coastline, quaint coloured houses, and had some of the best seafood they had ever eaten.

It has long been a place that has struggled economically, but that is rich in culture.

Stay in small bed and breakfasts or camping. Learn about the local mythology/folklore… eat a lot of sea food and Empanada de Pino!
