Museum Mile

I’ve been to 6 out of the museums listed here. The Barrio museum sometimes has great music set up outside (I think they are done for the year though), and the gardens right across the road from it in central park are really pretty.

The class difference from the Barrio museum at one end to the Neue gallery towards the other end was quite extreme. From heavy security at one, to a grand piano and expensive cafe at the other. Still, the people at all the museums I went to were all pretty nice.

Museum Mile is the stretch of 5th Avenue from 82nd to 105th streets along the East side of Central Park. Supposedly there are the largest number of museums in the world here. The museum mile fesitval is coming up soon—all nine of the museums are free that day, so it’s a good way to sample the ones you haven’t visited.
