A tip I have about this place  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

The better place to see the falls is the brazilian one. You can see it from argentina, paraguay and brazil, but the one you see better everything is the brazilian.

You can also visit Argentina to drink some beer or wine and go shopping in paraguay (ciudad del leste)

A review of this place: Brazil vs Argentina  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

We ended up going to both sides of the falls. Being from the US, you need a visa ($100). We got a bogus story that if we’re escorted by an Argentine for a few hours then it’s all ok. Well, when the border patrol came out, it was apparent that it was not all ok. We definitely sweated it out but were lucky enough not to be pulled over. If you’re from the US, get a visa or take your chances (although I don’t know the consequences if you’re caught).
Brazil is much more tourist-oriented which I don’t like. I am bitter against them because I feel Brazil doesn’t do much to conserve the environment and actually does things to harm it. Case in point, the Brazilian side has about 50 yds of trees wiped out for buses to run. The Argentinian side has this little train running with minimal trees removed (and probably more environmentally friendly in terms of pollution).
Ultimately, it is great to see both sides. It’s a shame to go all that way and only see only side. Make it a point to see both sides of the falls.

Worth visiting!

Take a short trip to the Brasilian side (close to the big fall) and spend one day on the Argentinian side. There are plenty of hikes you can take.

Go to the Southern parts (the Island and around) in the morning and save the the big fall for the afternoon.
This gives you the best light for taking fotos…

And: they offer tours during full-moon. At that time you can see a rainbow made by moonlight. I heard it must be awesome!

Worth visiting!

Probably the best waterfalls anywhere. Best seen from both the Brazilian and Argentinian side. Spend two nights. Go on a boat ride into the falls.

The argentinian side of the falls provides much more hiking and viewpoint possibilities than the Brazilian side.

Absolutely stunning. Didn’t know how fantastic it was, until I compared it to the Victoria Falls, and the Niagra. Very peaceful, and gotta love those coati.
