Skip the town, see campus or country  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

Unlike the town, the campus is great to be in, and the surrounding countryside is beautiful.

Worth visiting!

A Penn Stater for many years, a small part of my heart will always be in Happy Valley. Great fun to visit, especially on football weekends! Be sure to have an ice cream cone at the Creamery while you’re there.

Worth visiting!

It was interesting to see a big university and how it functions. The students I met were friendly. The town seemed to have some fun restaurants and bars. And I liked the campus-like feel. And it even has an airport nearby for easy access. Thumbs up. The ONLY thing I would not really recommend is that if you are a freshman, going to the frat parties during the spring semester, because the frat boys = jerks and you have to flirt with them to get beer, stand in line, and friggin’ negotiate your way through line. Ew. That is NOT a fun time. Although I’m sure hitting up the frat parties in fall as a young undergrad isn’t bad when they are actually being accomodating and nice.

Worth visiting!

I’ve been known to drive from D.C. up to Penn State just to get some ice cream. It’s the best in the country, it’s where Ben and Jerry learned the trade.
