I think the “downtown” area of just about any major city is worth seeing. After all, if you travelled to that area, you should check out the downtown to get a flavor for the people. I think Seattle has a great vibe, and for those of you that are nervous about hanging out “downtown”, rest assured that while crime does occur in the city, I’ve felt safer in some of the worst parts of downtown (and you wouldn’t be in those parts) than similar areas in San Francisco, Denver, Los Angeles, and Oakland. Of course, if you’re not going to take my word for it, then hang out along the water front, you’ll get to enjoy the view of the Sound and there is plenty of places to eat/shop and you won’t be worse for the wear. Besides, you came downtown to see the Public Market right (the Market is a mustIMO)
