Gouda

I visited during an annual Christmas celebration called “Gouda by Candlelight” where all the electric lights are turned off and the town center has only candlelight. It’s really beautiful. There are Christmas songs and other Christmas related events that go along with it. Worth visiting!

somehow I managed to become turist of the week here more than five years ago and although I would normally hate that this time it was rather fun. Its a place to visit on day time and then leave:)

For 19 years. Although I’m sure tourists will certainly like the town, it’s utterly boring and gradually becoming quite unsafe, especially in the town centre. You’re better off going to the Hague or Utrecht, both cities are just 20-30 minutes away from Gouda by train.
