Phoenix Zoo

I love love LOVE the zoo. That’s all that needs to be said =)

the zoo is my most favoritest place in the whole wide world because I loooove zebras!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t you???? sorry I’m talking like Junie B. Jones but my lil sister is reading them 2 me!!!

We visited at Christmas time for their night lights at the Zoo. There were tons of people and there were wonderful light displays over the entire zoo. Not too many live animals to be seen, they were all lights. It was wonderful.

When I was 10 and my brother was 11… we had all of 15minutes in the zoo lol my parents took us after a whole day of shopping and visiting in the Phoenix area. Of course they didn’t know the times or the schedules… so they let us loose and we pretty much ran through the whole zoo lol one of the best times I’ve ever had really.. some childhood memories… I actually want to go now that I actually live here nearby but I just need to make the time. smile I go by nearly every month for barbeques and remininsce and tell myself I’ll go next week but it never happens. from my earliest memories of being here at this zoo I had a lot of fun… wasn’t too hot as I recall and we got to see a lot of the animals back when… so I guess we were there around fall time. But I want to go back now. smile I guess this is what I’ll do this weekend or this next friday on my day off smile but definitely I would have to say this is a really good place to see and visit in the Phx Tempe area.. and of course there is also a huge flea market down the road on the weekends lol

I have two small children & they love the zoo each time we go.

If you go in the summer, there is a mini water playground area for the kids. Many people don’t know this, but can pack your own lunch & take it into the zoo with you. It saves $$$, eating at the zoo can get a bit pricey.

The Phoenix Zoo has also been voted on the of top 5 zoos in the nation for children. There are many programs geared toward school aged children & several interactive things during the school year. I recommend checking the website for the times & costs of those programs.

ZooLights runs from late November or early December usually through the first weekend of January.

Went to a company sponsered christmas party at dusk at the Phoenix Zoo. What a great place to party! Able to wander specified locations in the park, lit by christmas lights, sipping wine! Wonderful time!

I found Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum in Tuscon to be more educactional. Always carry a bottle of water.

for water bottles & the “taxi” things or you’re in for a loooonnnng callous producing hike if you bring uncomfortable shoes! And It’s NOT worth it in the summer, the (smarter) animals are not visible, because they’re kickin’ back in the shade!

I went on Valentine’s Day a few years ago … great memories!

One of the better zoo’s I’ve been to, definitely worth seeing if you are near Phoenix
