The Hurricane & the Duck  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

So baltimore has this Duck Boat/Car that is basically a tour bus that travels in the water and on the streets playing the “quack quack” song. The tourists get carried around flapping their arms like a duck. Apparently, the music begins to play when the keys go into the ignition….

So after the hurricane a few years back, the Duck boat was the best candidate to rescue the residents stranded on their roofs. The Duck came to the rescue – and there were these people who had lost everything, flapping their arms to the duck song that played as they were rescued.

Due to the high amount of kayaks and canoes out for a spin down the streets of fells point, Sen. Mikulski had to get on the TV and remind us Balti-morons that no, hurricanes are not entertainment zones.

Fells Point is just a fun place to visit. During the day there are so many cute shops and it’s right on the water. At night the bars are so much fun and I’ve always had a good time there.

Worth visiting!

Well if your coming to Baltimore fell’s Point is a definete spot you must visit. It’s especially busy during the weekends because man people come out to enjoy the many bars and restaurants. During the day time many of the shops and boutiques are open all of which are quite eclectic. You won’t find a “main stream” OLD NAVY or GAP store here. Also if you head down make sure to take advantage of the water taxi. For a couple of bucks you can take a trip to surrounding areas like Canton and the Inner Harbor without that hassle of finding additional parking.. Make sure to take notice of the cobble stone roads…it’s original and adds to Fell’s Point culture.

If you like to drink, mainly in small sea-chanty-town type bars, then this is your place. It sits right on the water in Baltimore, MD, thus it’s inception. It was originally a place for sailors to drink when they came in off their boats. Now it’s for everyone. Some contend that it’s haunted and they have “Ghost Tours” to attest to that fact. If you’re like me you’ll want to stay away from places like Reefer’s and instead patronize the smaller venues like the Wharf Rat and for food Brick Oven Pizza (commonly referred to as BOP) is a must. During the day there is some interesting shopping to be done in places like Sticky Fingers, Ninth Life and for music Soundgarden.

Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

Everyone focuses so much on the bars and nightlife in Fells Point, but I’ve enjoyed Fells Point without it. There are cute secondhand and antique shops and other stores you won’t see anywhere else! Not to mention there’s a growing Hispanic community just down the street. Just walk down to Broadway and you’ll find authentic Salvadoran or Mexican food and Latin American grocery stores.

Worth visiting!

I went to see Cirque du Soleil in the tent on the waterfront. Amazing! I’ve heard that downtown Baltimore was fairly depressed not long ago, but it seems thriving now.

Huge fan of Homicide: Life on the Streets, The Wire, and The Corner. After watching all that how could you not go to Baltimore and especially to Fell’s Point?
