Unfortunately, I only spent a day in Santa Barbara & stayed in nearby Carpinteria. Santa Barbara was beautiful though. It was really laid back & had a really good vibe to it. I loved strolling along the main street, walking into little shops then catching the little shuttle bus back to the beach & walking along the street looking at all the beautiful art. There was also am Iraq war memorial on the beach which was beautiful & touching. If I ever go back to the States I will spend more time here.

I drove from San Fran to LA down Hwy 1. We stopped in Santa Barbara for the day. It was wonderful. I kind of wish I didn’t continue driving down to LA and just stayed in Santa Barbara for the rest of my vacation…

I’ve been here at least twice that I can remember. Once with my wife before we got married, and another time on Memorial Day in 2000. I had legal problems at the time, and couldnt really enjoy the trip. We did pedal the bicycle for two up and down the beach, however; and I got some really nifty salt water taffy.

I have lived all over california and no place is like it. Amazing beaches beautiful people and wonderful weather. I have lived here for the last 3 years and i swear it has made me a better person. It is uber expensive to live here but its worth it if you like to be 5 minutes from the beach 10 minutes from great hiking 20 minutes from downtown and an hour away from LA (which is about as close as i ever want to live to LA again)If you are thinking about going to college here stop thinking and just come its wonderful!

I lived here for the last 8 years. I just moved, but I already miss it. There are so many places to check out. If you’re already thinking about going, I’m sure you have some places in mind.

Here’s another one you might want to check out. It’s a little out of the way, but very interesting. It’s called Cold Spring Tavern.

ever since i first went to santa barbara i fell in love. its so beautiful down there! definatly go check out the santa barbara bowl for some awesome concerts,you wont be disappointed!

I love this town!

One of the really cool things to do in Santa Barbara this time of year is to go see the Monarch Butterflies on the Ellwood bluffs. They pick this one eucalyptus tree to all gather, mate and die…you think it’s all leaves until the sun hits it and everything is orange wings =)

The bluffs are also an excellent place to walk your dogs.
