Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

I would love to go to the French Polynesia, especially to Tahiti. Not so much to see the beaches but for scuba diving. I love scuba diving, and I have read that this is the best place to do it. The water is translucid, there are many sea creatures and corals.
If I went there, I would swim and dive all day.

A tip I have about this place  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

Don’t attempt to use American ATM cards. I was there one evening, had fun locally with some passengers, but no real stories to tell.

Moorea Honeymoon  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

I’ve just returned from our honeymoon on the island of Moorea (the island next to Tahiti). We spent a little bit of time at the airport on Tahiti but the rest of our week was spent on Moorea and it was fabulous. From what I got to see of Tahiti, it appears to be very commercialized and built-up. Moorea, on the other hand, is just a few minutes away and the largest building I saw was two stories and the biggest road was two-laned and full of pot-holes. I can’t begin to express how beautiful this island was, but you can get an idea by looking at our honeymoon pictures .

Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

The bf and I are planning a Tahitian vacation for this fall. Still researching places to stay/things to do. We know for sure that we want to scuba. He’s already PADI certified and I’m looking into getting certified stateside before we go.

We are also into getting off of the beaten path. We very much want to get to see some of the smaller, more remote islands. Any advice on great dive sites or other cool things to do?

Worth visiting!

Loved Bora Bora, the water is literally three to four shades of blue and green. Honest, photos you see are not retouched, those are true colors. Just watch out for the coral reefs…yikes!!!

Spend more time away from the big islands and visit the smaller ones. They are more unspoiled and less comercialized. Moorea, Papaetee

The first time I went to this place  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

My girlfriend and I have just come back from a week in Tahiti. It was lovely. We stayed at the Le Meridien in Punaauia, in a Lagoon View room. It is a lovely hotel, far enough outside of Papeete to feel a little more relaxed, but close enough to be able to get there easily.

Here are my top travel tips…

  • Stay somewhere outside Papeete.
  • Go snorkelling!
  • Hire a car if you are staying for a while. Driving around Tahiti is pretty easy as long as you keep your wits about you.

My only regret is that we didn’t get around to taking the ferry to Moorea. Oh well, at least I can look forward to going back to French Polynesia and staying on Moorea on my next visit!

Pay Attention in French Class  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

I failed French in elementary school so thankfully we met a guy from Toronto that paid attention in class. He was our translator. We went to visit a waterfall and ended up missing the last bus. We stuck out our thumbs and a local picked us up. He only spoke French but we all sang Police songs that played on his stereo. Music was the only language we shared. Smile and ‘Merci’

What I want to do at this place  — 1 year ago

I’ve personaly never been there. But i would love to visit. at least for a week or two. There is something about the place that seems so peaceful. My mother has been there and she says it was amazing, and very romantic.
