Langkawi

...my creditcard was phished, TV in my hotel room exploded, window broke during a typhoon (it was r e a l l y wet inside afterwards!) and cockroaches all over the place.

But people are friendly and relaxed, weather’s nice and beaches gorgeous.
I would like to come back, but this time I’d use travellers cheques!

I cant forget the memory going for a holiday trip here with my friends! we had barbecues…

This is a quiet piece of the earth with very very friendly people. I have been here twice and I can not wait to go back there more times.

Just writing about it makes me all mushy and wants to be there now!

i totally love this place. its the first ever beautiful resosrt island ive been to, and definately ill like to visit it again someday. But first, ill like to go to the different beautiful islands around the world. My first time snorkelling was also perfected by the azure ambience of the tranquil langkawi !

The airport was TINY. You can’t really see much from the airport, but from what was being shown on the flight before landing, the place looks like a tropical paradise. It was VERY humid. I’d like to go back some day.

I spent two nights in Chenang Beach in Langkawi. Langkawi is mostly great for shopping as it’s a duty-free island. Liquors and cigarrettes are very cheap here. If you’re going to Langkawi, don’t forget to visit the tourists attraction, more info please search on Google. For photos, you can view my Flickr album.

I’m 50-50 on whether its worth a visit. It served its purpose for me—a place to go to the beach and avoid Pi Mai Lao and Thai Songkran. But the beaches are nothing compared to Australia or ones I saw in Sumatra, or even the beach I went to in Cambodia. But its nice enough… Be sure to at least tour the island and I loved the island hopping tour (bargain even to my standards – $10 for a half day tour). I recommend staying at Zackry’s guesthouse if you are doing it on the cheap. And use the facilities of Holiday Inn opposite and no-one notices.

make sure the ferry you get into is safe enough to carry you through the choppy waters.

We stayed at Malibest Resort. Not a very good one though. And I don’t recommend flying AirAsia there either. They’re horrible. We went to Seven Wells and Island Hopping. It was really fun!!!
