La Sagrada Família

Even with all the cranes and the reconstruction work going on, it’s an amazing sight. I can’t wait to go and visit it again once it’s finally completed.

I took my exboyfriend here. It is one of Gaudi’s greatest works althought the whole city of Barcelona is plagued with his faboulous architecture.

My ex who is very tall was sometimes nervous about going up on the higher areas but it was pretty cool. It is still being workded one and you can see workers as they continue Gaudi’s work.

I was shocked to find out architects could not figure out what Gaudi wanted to accomplish until just recently, a span of almost 80 years!!!

They wouldn’t let us be lazy and get the lift, we had to climb all those bloody stairs.
But we did see someone in a Hawaiian shirt who looked suspiciously like Barry chuckle…
So I suppose it was worth it.

Go early in the morning before the herds pack in. It is nice to go in and admire the morning sun shining through the little portals above. I also think it is very much worth going in – just admiring the details and taking the elevator up the spire is worth it.

Since my trip last weekend I keep thinking about this place and wanting to learn more about it. What a blessing to have such a creative piece of architecture and patrons who continue to work towards a spectacular vision!

This cathedral is just amazing.
And it’s unfinished. Which I think is pretty remarkable, because it’s so great to look at anyway, even with all the cranes about it.

Barcelona is one of my most favorite cities on the planet. La Sagrada Familia is an incredible cathedral. Although I enjoyed walking through the parts of the building open to the public, I enjoy even more just looking around the outside and seeing things I had missed the first few times.

Don’t pay to get in! It’s worth to see it from the outside, very impressive. But inside, there is nothing to see except the construction work. I’ll probably go back there in 20-30 years when they will maybe have finish it.

did my end of year project on this building and i loved it. seeing something i have been reading about in real life was great. if u ever get the chance to get there take it.

When I went here last time, I climbed the stairs, little did I know that once you start walking up, there is no turning back ! I am proud to say I survived without broken limbs.
I really enjoyed this, but there was not much inside, but scaffolding.
