Worth visiting!

Go once. One visit is all you’ll need. Rent a moped, take it up to the Northern lighthouse, then back down to the Southeastern lighthouse, then spend time in the old town district before heading back to the mainland.

I went to the Oyster Festival – the best ever!
Check out the schedule and plan your trip around that.

Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

I never made it here last summer in my quest to see as many RI beaches as possible. I hear it’s very touristy and crowded, so it never really made my priority list. I kinda planned on taking a visiting friend there in late August, but he visited the one weekend that it rained constantly. I’m excited by the fact that you have to take a ferry to get there (or fly, but let’s be serious). I’d like to try to go next spring, when it gets nice and before all the tourists swarm there.

Worth visiting!

A great place to visit before the summer tourists show up. We spent our anniversary there and really enjoyed staying in a little B&B.

A tip I have about this place  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

I’ve been going here since i was a kid and it has changed in that it has been discovered! The island is really a great northeast weekend getaway but i avoid it now during the peak season. Best time to go is right before the summer or better still right after labor day. The prices go down drastically and it is once again a serene place to go biking, hiking, walking or just laying by the beach.

As for the beach, there is a great area that is completely secluded …all u need to do is find the painted rcok and follow the long trail down through the dunes. Hint: it is off of the mohegan bluffs.

Also, if u like to sail this is a great place to dock.

biking trip!!!  — 3 years ago

Worth visiting!

the best way to get around the island is renting a bike and buying a map. Unfortunately when me and my friend went, the shops were still closed for the season. Therefore, some parts of the island were eerily quiet but since I had someone with me, it was peaceful instead. The ferry ride was unnecessarily long and I was mildly sick.

hidden beaches, cute stores, cliffs, and cows!
