I went to the pyramids as part of an egypt tour with intrepid. the pyramids was the second day of the trip an didn’t disapoint.
They are amazing – the most surprising thing is that it backs onto the sahara – so you see sand galore and camel rides in the foreground of the pyramid panaroma shots.

Fantastic!
On the bus on the way over to the pyramids, saw them poking out from the edge of Cairo. Fantastically built and far bigger than expected.
It will not let you down.

I climbed inside of a tomb and touched 5,000 year old hieroglyphics with my own hands. The place is unsupervised and AMAZING.

Two ways to be there,
1) Pay ticket LE50 and walk to the pyramid.
2) Get the horse for LE30 per hour (2 hours) and LE50 for ticket.
Inform the guide you do not want to visit those papyrus and perfume shop.

I visited the Giza pyramids as part of a cruise trip. We hjad a day in Egypt, and that included going to the Cairo museum, seeing the Sphynx & pyramids, taking a tour inside one of the pyramids and taking a camel ride in the Sahara desert. It was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had.
My only regret is that I was so young at the time (about 8 years old, travelling with my parents and little brother). I would love to go back again so that I can understand more of what I see and appreciate it better.

Tommy Taplow asks,
“I would like to see the pyramids, the Nile and also the Sphinx. Is this all located at Giza?”
