a fun stop on a valencia crawl  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

last time I was here, i walked into the back with some friends sat down and started reading kids books. Then we were told it was off limits and they kicked us out even though the area wasn’t blocked off or anything. Also, I couldn’t find the vitamin c tablets so needed to fight off scurvey for my next nautical adventure. I need to be at the peak of health when I’m swinging on a rope while trying to board another ship, waving my cutlass to and fro.

Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

It seems like a fun shop, and what could be cooler than pirates? Plus, it’s not too far from me… I should just walk over there some day.

The first time I went to this place  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

Amazing! I’d totally volunteer to be a pirate volunteer writer there. This place is associated with the same people who run the superhero store in New York, McSweeny’s. Which explains a lot of their characteristic copywriting.

Wondering what's in the lard bin?  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

Learn from my experience. Trust the sign. Don’t thrust your enthusiastic little fist into the bin only to find out, hey, it’s actually lard. Plus, those hereto unfamiliar with lard will be surprised at how a fistful of lard really stays with you throughout a few handwashings, and has a distinct smell you’ll long associate with lard bins. Also, I volunteered at 826 for 9 months or so until I moved and would highly recommend to anyone.
