Worth visiting!

SECOND CHANCE WEST - 4724 Pacific Hwy

I L-O-V-E this store. It’s a thrift/second hand store right off I-5. The building is purple and you can see it from I-5 – take the Slater Road exit.

I buy just about everything I own there. My bed, blankets, towels, couch, stationary, pens, notebooks…

The best thing about it is that I’ve been able to barter and haggle with them. With gas prices the way they are, it’s easier than driving around to all the yard sales, and they’re open during the winter.

ENJOY!

A tip I have about this place  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

This is a great place- neat little coffee shops, nice harbor, beautiful scenery, great people. The public transportation is cheap, plentiful and great. I would love to go back and just hop a bus in Seattle, and stop at each of the towns along the way working my way up the coast to Bellingham. There’s a dozen or more great little towns along the way. It would make a terrific trip.

Bellingham is one of the few towns I have ever fallen in love with. I instantly regretted not applying to Western when my relatives suggested it, and began to contemplate applying now, even though it’s not my kind of school. Bellingham is just that cool.
I liked the ReStore, La Vie en Rose (try the Rosemary Sea Salt rolls), the Organica shopping area thing, the Malt Shop, looking at the old brick buildings at the waterfront, the victorian-esque houses, and trying to avoid running down cyclists.
Next time I want to wander around the downtown more, and explore more of the cafes and record stores.
I was expecting Birkenstocks with Socks and earth mothers, and while there was some of that, it was more green-friendly-hip than hippy.

LOVE IT. It’s beautiful because you have the bay on one side, mountains on the other. The resturaunts are wonderful – Skylark’s is one of my favorites. They’re local places, not chains. The people are friendly and slightly on the hippy track. I went to college at WWU, drank coffe at Stewarts and found my husband at the INN. My heart resides here and I hope to someday settle here.

Worth visiting!

My first pass through B’ham was when I was 11, for a month. When I was 17 & living in NC I decided it was time to get out from under my family & hopped a greyhound to Seattle. Lived in Bellingham for 2 years—Have NO idea why I left. Loved it & go back when I can. Grew up in the Fraser Valley (B.C.) for a good chunk of my young life, so the northwest always calls me back.
