A review of this place: Great Cod  — 12 months ago

Worth visiting!

The cod special is terrific. The cava rose goes nicely with it. Try the wild boar as your appetizer instead of the ahi- the ahi is a little too much like tuna salad, but the boar is succulent! Great atmosphere.

A tip I have about this place  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

In spite of their recent expansion, make a reservation if you don’t want to eat at the bar with narrow stools :S Worth the food nonetheless.

Excellent restaurant to bring visitors to Seattle.

All around favorite lunch spot. Casual, delicious food in a Seattle landmark.

The hot sauce, offered along with the catfish sandwich at lunch, is more dangerous than it looks…

Worth visiting!

With the parents in from Delaware, this was the obvious choice for dinner last Friday. We were all super impressed. The only thing was that I had been told by friends that they always take their own wine and pay the corking fee, but when we brought out ours the waitress wasn’t too keen on the idea. I don’t know if others have had this experience, but it seems fairly standard to be able to bring your own wine as long as you expect the corkage fee.
Luckily after the initial uncomfortableness, the rest of the evening was great.

Worth visiting!

i ate the catfish po’boy on a weekly basis while working a few blocks away in the late 90s and make a point to go back whenever i’m in the neighborhood. great food, great people, great atmosphere. and save room for desert, their selection is always terrific. still my favorite lunch spot in seattle, though i don’t go nearly as often as i’d like these days.

Worth visiting!

This has been one of the best kept secrets in Seattle. I only take people there that I really like.
