Erie

A common day trip for the family. There’s lots of shopping, entertainment, and Presque Isle is a great place for biking, running, roller blading, swimming, or reading on the beach.

Erie is a wonderful place to live and/or visit :) We moved here in September of last year. The main reason I wanted to live here is because there is so much to do all year round, and it’s a nice place to raise a family with a lot for little kids to do. My daughter loves it here. We still have so much to explore. There are lots of beautiful parks including Presque Isle, trails, playgrounds, beaches, amusement parks, kids museum, art museum, Chuck E. Cheese, etc. There are a ton of stores, a nice mall, many unique little stores. It is also in a good location, close to many nice places like Niagara Falls and Buffalo, Ohio and Canada. Rent is also really cheap for nice places.

Going back and visiting family makes me wonder, “why do they live here?”

For being on such a famous lake it’s always polluted.
One time I walked on the beach for an hour, saw thousands of dead fished washed up in the sand. Most disgusting site.
I would go back, but i love my family.

Was Easter weekend many years ago where a great family hosted us and made some of the best chili I’ve ever eaten.

I live in Erie, and am moving in about 2 weeks… if you’re not from here and are thinking about visiting my advice is – don’t.

Panos’ is the best place to go at 3 AM, Taki’s has the best breakfasts, the Country Tavern has the best wings EVER, the French Quarter has cajun-style crawfish around Mardi Gras… funny, whenever I get homesick, it’s only ever for the food…

I live in Erie Pa and it’s not really that great. Unless you’re an old fart who is looking for a cold winter get-away on the lake, then this is your place! Otherwise, avoid it at all costs…:)

quaker steak & lube is the best restaurant ever. i go to erie just for that. the beach is alright, just make sure you go on a really hot day because the water gets freezing. there’s an indoor water park called splash lagoon that you should definitely go to. it was storming pretty hard last time we were in town, and they kept it open. so you can still enjoy some water. :)

sara’s has the best hamburgers and amazing soft serve icecream. it is a great stop on the way to the beach

My co-driver always stopped at a certain Indian-run truckstop to buy cartons of cheap cigarettes before we got on the turnpike to run across. Wish I could have stayed to visit other areas. I remember it was always pretty, even in winter.
