Worth visiting!

I completely fell in love with the place… so much, in fact, that I’m going back in 3 months to live!

And please don’t listen to all that crap about the mafia, etc. Have questions? Wanna argue? I wrote my thesis on stereotypes against the South of Italy. Let me point you in the right direction.

A review of this place: Beautiful monuments but ugly city  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

I recommend a daytrip to Palermo, but all in all I found the city dirty and run down. There are (would be…) amazing buildings and monuments but all around them it’s a disaster. Maybe I had high expectations… I don’t know. I found the food amazing, the people kind and friendly, but I cannot say that I thought that Palermo is a beautiful city. If anything, a city with some beautiful stuff. Worth a visit, for sure, but don’t expect a “nice” city. It’s pretty rough.

I love this city with all of my heart! Maybe because this is where my family lives/is from!

Palermo is a definite must  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

Yes, Palermo is big, and there are lots of cars and lots of pollution and it can be dirty and crowded, but it is beautiful nonetheless. Make sure you pick up an arancini (rice balls stuffed with meat and peas)... my favorite snack in all of Italy. The catacombs are really freaky and make for a good story. Monreale is beautiful… all accessible by bus from downtown.

Worth visiting!

all i can say is that it has it all: beaches, mountains, great food (does it get any better than Sicilian pizza? not really)
