I went to NYC last March to visit a friend. Being a Texas girl who’s not very well traveled, it was one of the best experiences of my life.
I think the best part of the trip for me was visiting Chinatown and buying a bunch of knock-offs and souvenirs, then walking across the Brooklyn Bridge just as the sun was setting. As soon as we got to Brooklyn, my friend and I stopped at a little diner and chatted over coffee. It was great.
I loved Times Square. I had seen it a million times on TV, but it’s so exciting in person. I went there every day.
I did a lot of traveling around by myself, and that really helped me appreciate the city. I was proud that I didn’t end up getting too lost. I felt like a bona fide New Yorker. I even had people walking up to ME asking for directions. Go figure.
I plan on going back again very soon because, although I did a lot, I feel like there’s so much I didn’t do. Words can’t express how much I loved it there!
