Worth visiting!

I lived on Staten Island when I was 5. I learned to ride my bike there, and I fell in a snow pit, and that’s about all my young brain retained. So, I went back December of 2007 with a love of mine, and experienced it a completely different way. This city is fluid. And always alive. I’m damn proud to have lost my training wheels here.

me and dustin went here for christmas 2007. i loved it! my fave things were the cool toy stores and the hotel we stayed.. the pod.. it was really small, we had bunk beds! but it was cool.. also we went to the empire state building, brooklyn bridge, the world trade center site, the ghostbusters firehouse, ate pizza, drank starbucks, ooo! Went to Serendipity and drank frozen hot chocolate, ice-skated at wollman rink in central park, etc.. it was great!

Worth visiting!

I went to NYC last March to visit a friend. Being a Texas girl who’s not very well traveled, it was one of the best experiences of my life.

I think the best part of the trip for me was visiting Chinatown and buying a bunch of knock-offs and souvenirs, then walking across the Brooklyn Bridge just as the sun was setting. As soon as we got to Brooklyn, my friend and I stopped at a little diner and chatted over coffee. It was great.

I loved Times Square. I had seen it a million times on TV, but it’s so exciting in person. I went there every day.

I did a lot of traveling around by myself, and that really helped me appreciate the city. I was proud that I didn’t end up getting too lost. I felt like a bona fide New Yorker. I even had people walking up to ME asking for directions. Go figure.

I plan on going back again very soon because, although I did a lot, I feel like there’s so much I didn’t do. Words can’t express how much I loved it there!

Worth visiting!

It’s the most alive city I’ve ever been to. I felt very safe and it was convenient to take the subway everywhere. I would love to go back and maybe to move there someday.

spoko asks, “I'll be in NYC in late March with my wife & two kids (2 & 4). Any suggestions for things to do? We like free, of course, and we're not big fans of name brands or chains (so the Toys R Us in Times Square, for instance, just isn't that appealing).”
