the hotel was a bit icky and my brother didnt make it bcoz he realised his passport was out of date about 20 mins away from the air port but apart from that it was really good and was my last family holiday before my dad passed away.

I’v been to Malta twice. Once to learn some english and once to learn to dive. I lived in Bugibba the first time, and the second (the dive trip) in Sliema. The diving was good, the weather was hot and the people talk english well. I could return again!

My father’s family is Maltese. I’d like to check out my roots.

I spent a week here and it was hard to get used to how small the island is. It has incredible history though and the beaches areawesome. We took a boat trip around the whole island and stopped at the blue lagoon to snorkel. I got to swim up close to all sorts of sea life and the water is so clear and blue it was absolutely amazing. The cities are small and cramped but so many cultures are crammed together is great. Worth visiting but they do drive on the left side of the road. The MAtese currency kills the dollar as well.

My visit to Malta was the first holiday I went on with my boyfriend. We bagged a late deal last May and got a super-cheap deal for an all inclusive hotel in Qawra. The weather was scorching hot, and the beaches and pool were very quiet seeing as we didn’t go at a peak time. There is a lot to do and the excursions are very varied and a lot of fun. We packed so much into 7 days, although I think we might have run out of things to do if we were there for much longer. The highlight for me was visiting Meditarraneo Park, which is like a tiny zoo with a parrot show, sea lion show, dolphin show and a few animals that you can go round and just look at. We booked a session to swim with the dolphins which was absolutely wonderful.
Anyway, I would really recommend going to Malta. There is a lot of history, great scenery, lovely food, and – best of all – exteremely friendly and helpful people (staff and locals).

It’s so tiny, out in the middle of the sea. And they apparently eat songbirds there. I don’t have anything against songbirds, they are lovely. But this fact makes the people of Malta sound like they’re worth mingling amongst. Methinks.

Malta was amazing (that might have been because I was abroad for the first time with friends instead of family :D – I was 16 then, on a language trip) and I want to go there again!
We stayed in St. Julians, but visited several other places too like Sliema, Mdina, Valletta, Blue Grotto, Comino.. and drove all over the island of Malta.
I’d love to learn Maltese. Everyone speaks English there, but the little Maltese I managed to hear sounded so interesting and funny!

Not worth it!
i visited this place a few years ago and i’m disappointed to say i was unimpressed. the roads were terrible (potholes and rubble). i saw cockroaches, dead rats and decapitated pigeons all over valetta. i don’t think i’ll be heading back here in a hurry.

“I'm heading to Malta early August and really looking forward to it. Can anyone suggest a company that does kayaking tours? Also a boat trip with a stop for snorkelling would be lovely too if anyone has any suggestions.”
