Wow. I’ve never been to any country so different from my own, before. The people were generally extremely nice. Incredibly diverse culture. It was fun seeing monkeys running around. I really enjoyed the food. Alot of interesting temples, with very intricate details.

Leave behind all of your assumptions and dive into things, if you want to get the most out of your visit.

What an experience…it is beyond words and pictures. Go for at least a month to consume some of what is happening around you!

Why I want to go to this place  — 3 months ago

Ever since 9th grade I’ve been amazed with India…went to a Hindu temple as a field trip with my Humanities class. Was the best time I’ve ever had on a school trip. Since then I’ve personally learned as much as I can about the Indian culture which isn’t difficult since my family is from Trinidad and has always embraced the indian side of the family. But my true goal is to work in India and understand the spirituality and mystery of the traditions. Plus I want to see the Ganga River. I have a friend that lives in India now ( New Delhi) and I need to arrange a trip there ASAP or atleast before he moves. LOL

Assume that your first month here will be adjusting. This place will stretch you. Don’t listen to any of your thoughts about the people or the place until that first month is over.

I went on a 5-day business trip to Mumbai on behalf of my ex-company back in 1998. I didn’t have time to go around much but I loved the food. Even here in the UAE, I scour the dark alleys for the best curries, masala, naan, parotha, etc.

I’d love to go back and see the real India, gorge on their heavenly food and trek their mountains.

my trip to India  — 4 months ago

    Worth visiting!

So i went to India( the land of my forefathers) it was an amazing experience!!
I spend some good quality time with my inlaws, got married & seen the beautiful beaches and local areas of Goa.
Life is calm, people are kind, food taste the best.

It was also a reality shock when i saw the poverty, it aint a prety sight:(...some people living in small huts, childeren working on the road side, poor old woman carying heavy baskets filled with vegtables…it made me realise that i am lucky&blessed with every little thing i have.

I did not see to much of India just a small part.
But i intend to visit over n over again.
