The water is so warm it makes you feel young again, and the people are so friendly! Watch out for the huge stinging red ants!

The cab drivers are your best friends, remember that, but don’t let them cheat you out of your money.

But I love the island soooooooooooooo much. I can’t wait to return!

i had so much fun meeting up with my family and sharing od stories. The problem with the whole flight was getting through the whole immigration/customs. I forgot to bring a pen, and no one seemed to have one. them i had to fill out a couple of forms, and leave. I fell back in love with antigua during the drive out of the airport. the landscaping was actually done by my uncle and his company, and they’re landscaping the cricket stadium for world cup now.

there is this little bar called the funky buddah and it’s a really nice place to chill and relax. they have open mic poetry and karaoke on certain days, but i forget when.

shirley heights was nice, but to me it was just a bunch of drunk tourists flailing their arms around and grinding the air to the beat of calypso. nothing too fascinating besides the remarkable view.

besides shirley heights, another place to get a great view is the tower at the airport. you have to sign releases and someone 18 or older has to sign for you if you’re not. They make you watch this video they say is short, but we were about 6 minutes into the video before we just asked if we could skip it and go to the top.

Big Banana restaurant had some good pizza. It’s located in town, and there’s another one at the airport.

I am going to Antigua on sunday 2/11 for two weeks. My grandfather’s funeral is on Monday and I will probably be meeting up with estranged family and having to guess who these people are when they say “remember me?”. I hope I get to go to shirley heights. My mother says it’s a must. This is my first time flying on a plane by myself. the last time i flew on a plane with anyone was when i was 6 or 7 so i don’t remember. I’m a bit nervous about that. I’m also a bit nervous about the whole connecting flight at San Juan, but I think i’ll be okay.

Barbuda is located in the middle of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean. To the south are the islands of Montserrat and Guadaloupe, and to the north and west are Nevis, St. Kitts, St. Barts, and St. Martin.

The Siboney were the first to inhabit the island of Barbuda in 2400 B.C., but Arawak and Carib Indians populated the island when Christopher Columbus landed on his second voyage in 1493. Early settlements by the Spanish and French were succeeded by the English who formed a colony in 1667.

Barbuda is currently home to the Frigate Bird Sanctuary, which is located in its Codrington Lagoon.

The country consists of a number of islands, of which Antigua is the largest one, and the most populated. Barbuda, just north of Antigua is the other main island. The islands have a warm, tropical climate, with fairly constant temperatures year round. Redonda – annexed in the 1860s when Phosphate reserves were noted, unoccupied since 1930 also belongs to the nation of Antigua and Barbuda.
