I had just arrived in Seattle from Phoenix the night before. A friend of mine that lives here took me out to see the sights and we nanchalantly drove by when I noticed it.
I didn’t have much history on Pike Place until I called my sister back home. She related to me that I was standing in front of an American icon. Also that this had been the backdrop in a scene from the movie Sleepless in Seattle.
It was a Saturday afternoon and overcast the last week of December 2006. We had lunch at Lowells, one of the restuarants inside the market, at a table that looks over Elliot Bay.
This place is a hodgepodge of activity and people with a county fair feel to it. This is a great place to watch people and spend an afternoon.
