Not much going on here.  — 3 months ago

Not worth it!

Spokane is a strange little town. I spent 3 weeks here. The people are nice though, there’s just not much to do here. White water rafting here was beautiful.

Worth visiting!

Well, I graduated Gonzaga and learned out to do some social dancing. Ballroom, Latin, Swing… amazing stuff, talk about keeping in shape. :) There are several venues in Spokane for dancing and it is easy to get going. You can find beginning lessons for $5 a pop, so I would suggest getting some group lessons under your belt and getting a feel for what kind of dance peaks your interest. There is a company in Spokane called USA Dance that is a great resource.

Spokane is a great city. Not so much hustle and bustle of Seattle and not without it’s culture and things to do!

The first time I went to this place  — 5 months ago

Worth visiting!

I went to tour Whitworth University in December of 2006 to see if I wanted to go there for sure. I had already been accepted when I visited, and I was going to see if I needed to apply for another school. I loved it; I didn’t apply anywhere else.

It is an alright town. It is growing and I expect it to get better.

"Living" on the South Hill  — 8 months ago

Worth visiting!

I lived with my maternal grandparents on the South Hill for a few months of my very early childhood, with my parents, and went to visit for many, many summers in my childhood and preteen years after that.

I have not visited since the Spokane Valley seceded to become their own city.

This is a sleepy little metro city that is small enough to be fairly personable, yet big enough to have some big city amenities.

I would not mind living here again, save for some minor issues I have with my grandparents.

Worth visiting!

Spokane is calm and easy. Especially in the winter, when everything is covered in snow.
It is the only large city in MILES and has become the hub for thousands of people in the rural areas.
I’ve heard it called a retirement community and I can’t argue. I’ve also heard it called “Methlaham.” (hilarious) It definitely has a meth problem but it’s still all about christian values.

Go to the garland theater for the midnight movie.
Go to Riverfront park and see the massive waterfalls, the carrousel, the skating rink under the tent (winter), and the giant radio flyer.
Drive up and down Division.
Go to Northtown, the biggest (and arguably the most awesome) mall I’ve ever been to.

Nice place to visit, wouldn’t want to live there (again)
(P.S. Worlds fair expo ‘74 was held here, which is why that weird tent thing was erected. The fabric wore off and for some reason they never wanted to take the rest of it down. It’s become iconic.)

Not worth it!

When I was at UW in Seattle I dated a guy that lived in Spokane. One weekend I went to visit and came home without my virginity! Ahhhh… the lovely Spokane.
