Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

My grandmother was born in Maracaibo. This is where my father’s family lived and still lives in Venezuela.

This is a little piece of my heritage I want to track down, and interact with.

Such a beautiful name: Maracaibo.

A review of this place: En diciembre es excepcional....  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

Worth visiting!

Not for everyone, but personally one of my favorite places in the world. Zulia has the most amazing people and culture. A jewel of Venezuela.

I am Maracucha =)  — 2 years ago

como estais? well earlier i wrote a longer note about my beloved city, but it got deleted by mistake, so i wont do it again, basically i said that we have nothing to do there for tourists, but we have OIL, the biggest lake of south america, CHEAAAAAAAAAAP beer, people just drink and play dominos in friends gatherings commonly. really GOOD food, cheerful people, HEEEEEEAT, it is between 38c and 45C degrees the entire year. we also have one the largest brigdes made of concrete of the world. i dont remember what else i was saying, but anyway i was born there, i moved 3years ago. we are peculiar in everything, comparing the behavior of the maracuchos and the rest of the venezuelan people. so if you are interested in learning maracucho’s way of speaking (old spanish) or anything related to my country ill be more than interested in helping you guys! Vamos a beber que hacemos~ typical phrase used everyday when you are inviting someone to drink and have some fun!

Nice people  — 3 years ago

Worth visiting!

Not much to see, really. But the people are very nice, especially with tourists. Food is also good. If you go, don’t miss: tequeños, pastelitos, yo-yos y patacones.
