Worth visiting!

If you are following the Burns trail then you will end up here.
Robert Burns lived and died here in Dumfries and most of the tourist sites make sure you know it.
The Robert Burns Centre has a small exhibition on the town at the time of Burns including a scale model of Dumfries at that period.
Burns House, where he and Jean Armour lived, is also run by the local museums service and can be found just across the road from St.Michaels Parish Churchyard where you can find his mausoleum.
We also have the site of the murder of the Red Comyn by Robert the Bruce, in the centre of town by Burns Statue, you can find a plaque on the wall stating where.
A museum and camera obscura can be found at one of the highest points of the town and can be seen from the Whitesands area by the river.
It’s a good central spot which you can use as a base to explore the gorgeous region Dumfries is the capital of.

Worth visiting!

There are quite a few places in Dumfries to learn about Robert Burns. The town is small and the Scottish locale are friendly. Definately not the place to visit for a night life. (There’s only local pubs) To stop here for a day trip would be appropriate.
