Worth visiting!

This is another part of the world that was a huge crossroads for many, many cultures over many millennia. There is so much history here, I wish archaeological crews could work 24 hours a day at restoring every known site in the entire region!!

As it is, there is plenty to see. The people, Arab and Jew, are amazing in hospitality, and it was so fun to wander through the city (old and new), trying out cafes, meeting people from all over the world.

Why I want to go to this place  — 6 months ago

I want to pray before the Wailing Wall. I want to walk throughout this city that is home to so many religions and the seat of so much controversy.

Why I want to go to this place  — 8 months ago

I want to see where my Lord is going to come back to get me. I want to see and walk on the streets that Jesus walked on. I dont really care to see were He was crucified, because I think that He wouldn’t like all of the gold, and Jesus is alive so I just want to see where he comes back at!

A tip I have about this place  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

When I was there (1995) the best falafel in the Middle East was located in Amman Jordan and in a stand just inside Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The first time I went to this place  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

I visited Jerusalem back in the spring of 1993 on summer break while I was studying law school in London. I flew into Tel Aviv airport early in the morning and then took a bus to Jerusalem. I spent a day walking around the holy city, seeing the wailing wall, the ruins and lots and lots of people.

FlyGirl asks, “When we were in Jerusalem last, we tried to go onto the temple mount, but armed guards turned us back. I have since been told that it is possible to go onto the temple mount, but not into the mosque. Is this true? If so, how do you get there?”
