Lisboa

I went to Lisbon 15 years ago!!! I wonder how much it has changed in the last decade, can anybody tell me something about its new look, habits….?

I have a great friend who’s family is from Aveiro and we have plans to travel there in Sept. I would like to fly into Lisbon, which I hear is beautiful. Spend a few days there, then take the train to Aveiro. I can’t wait!

I went last weekend and it was absolutely amazing, we were on a short trip where we ended up doing all the standard touristic stuff during the first day… that left us with two days to enjoy more obscure places and the great food that I hadn’t had since we went to North-east Brazil last year!

We also visited Sintra where we climbed up the hills to the castles (beautiful forest to hike in) and made a bike tour along the atlantic coast in the Cascais region.

We were on a tight budget and transportation is very cheap.. so you get creative ;-) Was a bit much in so short a time, but a great experience!

I´ll be there in one week!!

I love my birthplace, it’s the most beautiful place in the World.

Never, ever, eat the appetizers you are offered by default at restaurants.

They’ll try to charge you 8-12 euros for them, even when you didn’t order them. They are not worth so much.

If you don’t touch them, you will not be charged.

Beware of this, and check your bills :)

If you go here, make the effort to go to sintra, it’s quite easy to get to by bus or train and defiantly worth it!

I might be brazilian, but I cant talk bad about the potuguese! Most are so friendly, and lisboa is so beautiful! The streets are so clean and the architecture is one of a kind neo-european…And I cant forget the food, a comida portuguesa é da primeira qualidade!! Id go back any day!

I’ve been going here since I was eight and every time I find something new, it’s exciting and viberant with a great mix of people, and with cerveza and a pastel de natas you can’t go wrong.

Unfortunately my travels were only when on business. But I did manage to walk around a little. As is the case with most European cities, you’re surrounded by history and a lot of very nice people.
