Veracruz (State)

it there is a place with lots of waterfalls, it would definetly bee Veracruz, specifically local areas near the capitol city of Xalapa, like Naolinco for instance; wonderfull natual waterfalls that just make you wonder about the magnitude and magnificence of mother nature…

studied here for 4 years, would definetly come back, Ill post a photo later on for your viewing pleasure…

I was there some 10 years ago during semana santa – and boy it was craaaaaazy. I was not aware what all can be carried around and sold by humans – what a laugh.
friendly people lots of music, dance & fiesta

fascinating, rich and going fast. see my note on Guymas. old mexican port w/ resort beach area with super charm and history. development was inevitable and in not all cases a bad thing but there was (and may still be) a crucial romantic charm about veracruz. was that hollywood 20’s, first and foremost The Maracaibo (?) resort hotel built as a european castle on a white beach with huge royal palms leading to the sea. two pools; one indoors with amazing ceiling of hammered metal palm fronds connected to, if my memory serves me well, the outside pool with a bar that you had to swim too! down at the port they had music playing on speakers along the docks and it was like you were in amovie with a running soundtrack. scuba diving near the island off in the bay. magic

Truly beautiful and amazing. Where the new world was born. An exciting crossroads of multiple cultures. HIGHLY recommended.

the beach is so breathtaking wow!!, But at night you have to be sure not to look out the window, sometihng can come for you.

This place is gorgeous. Veracruz is a vacation spot for Mexican vacationers not for most other Tourist so it still very true to Mexican culture and does not feel touristy. I was there during “Semana Santa” (Holy week) and I loved it. I will return soon!!

Off the international tourist trail… although busy with Mexican tourists in August, Semana Santa, Christmas, etc.
