Pirates Of The Caribbean

Worth visiting!

Another favorite ride. There have been a few changes made to this attraction over the last several years. Some I like, some not so much. It’s a lot of fun to ride on, and a good place to go to get out of the heat on a hot summer’s day.

In this picture some of my kids are excited to go, and one is a little bit apprehensive. I wonder if you can tell which is which.

I went to Disneyland back in 1992 with a large group of friends. We filled about 2 of the boats with our group. We had so much fun on this ride, acting like the obnoxious teenagers we were. We were rocking the boats (oops :x) and attempting to splash each other – in our own boat as well as the other boat with the other half of our group. We also sang along loudly with “A Pirate’s Life For Me” – probably to the annoyance of other riders. Like I said – we were obnoxious teens; but we definitely had a blast.

The last time I went to this place

We were at Disneyland for the red carpet premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest in 2006. My father extended our trip one day so that we could ride Pirates of the Caribbean the day that it re-opened after they put all the new stuff in. We waited for hours, and the lines were insane. They added like 20 extra boats and they kept bumping into each other and we would stop. I think it broke down at one point, and “Dead Men Tell No Tales” kept repeating. I think the ride is cooler now than before, but I know purists are upset because they changed the original. Oh well.

The Blue Bayou

I’ve always wanted to go to The Blue Bayou restaurant there!!! Or go to a real Cajun restaurant in New Orleans- being raised in Cali, probably the former is more likely.

A review of this place

When I went on this one, I loved it. 4 years later I went on the one in Disneyworld…not as great. Still, there is a movie, so you gotta go on the ride. Just something ya gotta do.

The last time I went to this place

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me! The last time I went to this place was… today! The new and improved Pirates ride is so cool! It’s still the same ol’ POTC that I grew up with, with some updated things so the kiddos can relate it to the movies. Captain Jack Sparrow shows up a couple of times as you go through the various scenes. He’s not quite the focus of the ride though. Most of it has been left alone, so the die-hards won’t be too upset that it changed.
