If today Davao City has gone far in economic development, this can somehow be attributed to the hardworking Japanese laborers who in the early 1900s, faced and overcame many handicaps met in the underdeveloped agricultural lands of Davao. They penetrated the thick forests of Davao where others feared to tread. Because of such development Davao City has a history that is linked to three advanced and developed countries namely: Spain, United States and Japan.
Davao City then became known in history as a land conquered by Jose Oyanguren for Spain and the land that Japanese capital and labor made us one of the richest in the Philippines during the American regime.

We’ve been to Philippine Eagle Center, Malagos Garden Resort, Waterfront Hotel, Aldevinco.
We’re going back to go to Crocodile Park, Butterfly Sanctuary, Samal Island (who knows, maybe even Pearl Farm), and Aldevinco! ;-)

Davao City, is a very progressive city where you can have the best of both worlds. From islands to highlands! Davao has a very diversed culture and it’s what makes this city very unique. You can find a lot of nature parks and gardens within the city and white sand beaches is just about 10-15mins away! Bars and nightclubs are scattered around downtown too! Food is very cheap and it is one of the safest cities in Asia, although the media might be saying a lot of negative things about the city. The city was one of the most livable cities in Asia accroding to Time Magazine, it also won the an award for peace and order. If you feel safe in any city in the Philippines, you will be safer in Davao.
