Martinique

I would loooove to visit Martinique for my honeymoon, but I highly doubt that it will ever happen. Why is it so far away?

incredible views, gorgeous scenery – volcanos, mountains, black sand beaches. Never a typical Caribbean island. hard-to-find local bars that play great music. going hiking every day. huge crabs that run across the streets. amazing french-caribbean food. the headless statue of josephine. incredible history. clouds over the mountains at sunset. salsa dancing in the park. climbing mont pelee.

Really enjoyable time spent here, great weather!

Great people, full of caribbean culture and so french at the same time. Quite affordable! Many gorgeous beaches! Great rhum, ask for a “decollage”!
Down points are the very touristic night life and the traffic jams!

The people are sensual… the culture and vibe is right…I recommend

Martinique is near Venezuela, near where the island of Sainte-Lucie is marked on the 43 things map.
This is a beautiful oasis with many natural wonders. I’d definitely go back.

I was in Maritinique for the AATF convention in 2003. Fantastic time! I don’t know about a Martinique in the Dominican Republic.
