Honolulu International Airport aka: HNL

On the flight to hawaii we had hotdogs. They were bright pink and dyed the buns pink as well. To this day I still fear what they were made of

I was thinking about places I’ve visited a very long time ago and I remembered that I’ve actually been to Hawaii. That’s why it was marked off my list. Well it doesn’t really count since I was just at the airport waiting for a connecting flight, so I’m going to re-add Hawaii to my list. I can’t really remember anything about the airport since it happened many years ago, so I definitely want to go to HNL and Hawaii in general again. I’m still thinking if I want to go to this place some time soon too…

Look, Ma, I bagged another airport!

Wiki wiki buses are here. They influenced wiki (as an Internet term), wikipedia. Wiki means quick in Hawai’i language.

Watch out for the airport security. They seem to take upon themselves way more authority than they have been mandated under law.

It’s the best airport in the world for one reason—the smell! Getting off of a 10+ hour flight on a cramped airplane is totally worth it the moment you get that first whiff of flowers…it’s awesome. My favorite smell in the world.

It’s an airport…

The security lines are very slow, be prepared for that on the outbound flight.

Oahu is a beautiful island to visit though.

The airport isn’t too far from downtown Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, or Waikiki.

I spent twelve hours in the airport waiting for a flight to Australia. We could not leave – I saw a great sunrise – but that was it.

The only place where they subject the white folks to ‘random’ security. Beautiful place.

This was the first time I’d been anywhere tropical. Shame we were only in transit and never left the airport. This is far crueller than never having seen hawaii at all!
