Dunns River Falls

I had a blast both times I went. First with friends and then had to take my 12 year old son. We all LOVED IT!!!!

I am afraid of heights, and truth be told, though I like swimming, I fear large bodies of water. However, I conquered the Falls. It was an absolutely amazing experience. One I’d definitely like to repeat.

There are better places to spend precious time on.

Where else can you climb up a waterfall?

Admission is a lot less if you’re Jamaican. My mother, a Jamaican ex-pat, did all the talking as she paid for our admission, so we got in for the local price.

Climbing this waterfall was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done. I lost a glasses lens, but it was still wonderful! Be prepared for cold water!

We climbed the falls when we stopped in Ocho Rios on our cruise. Our guide along the falls said,

“If one person falls,”
and the crowd yelled,
“we all fall!’
& he said,
“bullshit! they get wet!”

Went here on a day trip with the fam. We held on to each other while we climbed the falls – it was a blast!

i have been here many times since my first visit to JA in ‘85 and used to love it . . . however, last trip we discovered Mayfield Falls and would highly recommend it instead of dunns river falls. excellent ! ! great drive getting there (quite far). way less touristy and cleaner and just all around better falls. different in that it’s not such a straight up climb as dunn’s river but you’re in a rain forest and it’s unbelieveable. we encountered a rain/lightening/thunderstorm the last 20 minutes or so in the water and that was unforgetable . . . once in a lifetime experience. would do it again, for sure.
