South By Southwest Festival aka: SxSW

I didn’t get to see as much as I would have liked because of scheduling conflicts. The festival was awesome though. And my childhood was completed because I finally got to see Hanson live. hah.

It’s basically just another week in Austin, except with L.A.-types walking around, talking on their cell phones, and a smattering of celebrities running about. Seriously. Any given night of the year in Austin you can see great music and watch indie flicks at a multitude of places without dealing with all the BS that comes along with SXSW.

I usually venture out to see a band or two during the festival but dealing w/ the crowds + paying $20 cover is just not my thing and frankly, it’s not very Austin-y.

just stand outside any bar on 6th street and you can enjoy the music. there are tons of performances on the street as well.

I attended SXSW interactive this year and it rawked. Everyone was friendly and cool to chat with. I loved the city and can’t wait until 2009.

If you are a music fan. Make this your vacation at least once in your life.

I went to the Interactive festival twice. I was super disappointed the last time … I think this one has jumped the shark, folks.

SXSW is pretty awesome. So many bands! If you voulunteer like 60 hours you get a free music badge, which are going for over 600 dollars. It’s worth volunteering.

a great chance to see new and old bands. hopefully, i’ll go with a press pass one day!

I’ve wanted to go to SXSW Interactive for a number of years, and now I finally have an employer who will send me. It’s been such a fun experience so far!
