Steamboat Springs

SOOOOOOOOOOO fun

We stayed here on the 10th night of our cross-country trip.

Well…I am not going to spend my summer there…and after I have spoken to some people why live or have lived there I really thought it should be a great place. However…( I am just out of luck…:( what can I do? maybe to wear a red thread on my wrist:) when I came back from lectures some hours ago I had a call that my job offer for Steamboat Springs is cancelled as I am a girl and they wanted only boys…:( Why didn’t they say it earlier? Nobody have ever mentioned about this… So now I have to wait for another job offer…isn’t it discriminatory? In fact the work would be in a hotel, it isn’t hard work, so why they don’t want girls…:(
Therefore, thanks everybody who has answered my questions about this place.

More “Colorado” than most ski areas.

I went as an exchange student when I was 10 and although it was only for a month, I had a great time there: my host family were really caring, the students at school were really friendly, all this when I barely understood a few phrases in english at the time! I would LOVE to go back sometime…

went last weekend (march 24th, 2006) for the first time and loved it. the skiing was fantastic and the weather couldn’t be better. i really really enjoyed the hot springs. pretty cool to sit in a super hot pool of water with a view of the snow covered mountains all around.

Even if you don’t ski or snowboard. The springs are phenomenal and it has such a wholesome small town feel, without being puritanical in any way (the springs themselves are clothing optional after dark!). It hasn’t been invaded by the chain restaurants, etc, so feels very pure.

I just spent a week here back in December to snowboard and visit Leah. It was insanely Cold.

Gorgeous, even if you’re not a skier, and a bit off the beaten track so it’s less touristy than other similar places.

If you ski and want Colorado fun without Colorado lines this is for you. Very laid back atmosphere adds to the fun.
