Not worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

After wanting to go to Mammoth Cave for a few years I have removed it from my list.

I found that the place is not CCW friendly and they won’t even allow you to carry a can of pepper spray.

The website said that no bags are alowed in the cave and even a small belly bag would be SUBJECT TO SEARCH!

Subject to search….. I thought I lived in America. I’m sorry I’m not going to be patted down to visit a cave when I can visit dozens of caves nearby that won’t treat me like some kind of criminal.

Very awesome place. I’ve been a few times and am still amazed. Lots of memories there. Camping is great fun and everyone should stay in the wigwams at least once. They’re so cool!

A review of this place: So much to see and do here

The cave has a multitude of tours to take, including some by lantern light, and a fantastic (and long) wild cave tour.

In addition to the caves, the area has a lot of natural beauty above ground, with nice trails. You can even take a cheap cruise on the green river.

A tip I have about this place

You really need to take one of the tours, and probably more than one to really enjoy it. Really really cool!

One of my best nights camping alone was along the Green River in this park. Total solitude. Nothing like the busy crowds waiting to get into the caves.
