Groton

We were stationed briefly in Groton,
but while we were there our long awaited baby girl Jenny arrived!

The local sandwich is called a “grinder” sort of a “Hero” in other locales ;)

It was a charming little town, very beautiful in the fall, and the place we rented seemed to echo with a lot of happy memories.
the table was an amazingly large round one people had played countless games on,
the kitchen was equipped with partyware and utensils for consuming lobsters…

It was a vacation home;

After leaving boot camp near Chicago, I was sent here for 22 section shore duty. First time I’d seen that part of America. Lived on the Naval Base, was never broke, and gave away my clothes to women who liked navy jeans. Fell in love with Denise StJohn but was too young to know what to do next.

We lived here in Navy housing when I was in first and second grade.

Moved here from California. On the surface Groton does not look too appealing, but when you search the nooks and crannies, there are some absolutely beautiful areas!

There are a few nice restaurants and parks to check out while you’re on your way to Mystic or the surrounding casinos.
