Train up your stamina before you head to Mt Kinabalu. The view at the peak is just breathtaking, both the sunrise and the panaromic view from the peak.
I’ll be there again in March 2008. Can’t wait for it!

And I’ve climbed it too! We were there on a school trip, and our teachers managed to haul 60 or so teenagers, aged 14 to 15 up this mountain. Going up, I must have sworn more than I ever have in my life. And with good reason. You know how in tropical countries, it always rains in the afternoon, regardless of the season? Well, I got caught in the rain. And my ‘raincoat’ wasn’t waterproof. And then, after it rained, we reached the little lodge, about 3km from the summit, where it was absolutely freezing. Hey, it was hell that time I did it, but I’d most definitely go back and do it again!

Was planning to climb on November 2006..I will reach to the top of Mount Kinabalu..

Only to the foot. Did not climb it. Was pregnant at the time so maybe in the future….who knows?

Failed to get to the top as I hadn’t booked a room, but I did the Mesilau trail which I recommend in lieu of the main overused trail. The Mesilau Nature Resort is also a great place to stay. Blogged it back in ‘02.

With friends I plan to Sabah and Serawak next year . Highlight : Mt Kinabalu (funtrekking huh..so easy) and Gua Nasib Bagus (Serawak Chamber)
