Orange County aka: O.C.

I’ve been in this area a few times. Always a good time. Lots to do. Its all good for about 4 days or so then I’m ready to go back home where its normal. I could never live there. The people are generally nice but a little flaky. It kind of gets on my nerves after a while. And I’m always the palest person on the beach.

I used to live in Irvine when I was in college and while it was a beautiful place to live…it is much more for upper class young families. In Orange County, the best places to be are Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Anaheim, Huntington Beach and Corona del Mar. Definitely see South Coast Plaza for some high end shopping. I could never afford to live here again, but it is worth visiting as long as you have a substantial income!

I make a trip to Orange County at least once every year. It’s great!

A friend of mine for over two years, took me here for the first time, and our love started to break out from the lil box we hid it in hah.

We had feelings for eachother for a long time but we were both too shy to admit any thing.

We went to Orange County a couple of times and just hung out at the Asian Garden Mall all the time, and little by little we got closer and more “couply” until we fell in love some how.

Well thats where it started. ^_

Its a great place. Nice people. Yummy food. Lots of things to buy. Lol.

My family was from O.C. It’s a fucking badass place to be, I wanna go back when I get the chance.

Heard that it is really a beautiful place.

I think 70% of people who first visit Orange County do so in transit to Disneyland - which is in Anaheim - which forces most people visiting from the north to have to go through the absolute ugliest parts of Orange County to get to Disneyland.

Forget this is Orange County.

The best parts of Orange County are the beaches, the foothills to the east, U.C. Irvine, and cities like Costa Mesa (easily the best city in O.C. IMHO—Christ, I mean, Taco Mesa), Laguna Beach, Balboa, Balboa Island, Corona Del Mar, Westminster (specifically Little Saigon.), downtown Fullerton, the arts district of Santa Ana, the downtown/antique district of Orange, and much more.

Just like in most of Los Angeles, you’ll probably need a car here, which is too bad, but there are a lot of great things in Orange County—dare I say some are done better here than in Los Angeles.. such as the ability to beachwalk most of the county coastline, eat at better restaurants, and be able to escape a little easier.

Politically speaking, I’ll defer. That said, I was able to live here for 10 years, and I don’t regret it.

But please don’t judge your O.C. experience based on a single trip to Disneyland and back. That isn’t O.C. at all. That’s all I ask. Thank you. :D

To be fair, I’ll also add that - given what I’ve been told - it’s become really expensive to live in Orange County, even moreso than in Los Angeles. Visit O.C. by all means, and work this out with a local to go to specific places. I don’t think I could justify to anybody to actually move there, unless there was a really high paying great, fun job waiting for him/her. It’s far more expensive to live in O.C. than need be. But it’s absolutely worth visiting several times and more.

I should also add that I did not grow up here—which would have flipped my opinion, I’m sure. (I grew up in Los Angeles.) I did move here to go to college @ U.C. Irvine though, and I did stick around to work at my first job here for a while.
