Midway Airport

When I first went to midway I was dropping off a friend from the airport with my older sister. We were still in high school and all I could think of is it reminded me of the airports in the movies when you were in a 3rd world country. I half expected a goat to come running around every corner which was kind of exciting. It was also really cool that we were able to walk right up to the gate with her and watch as her plane took off.

After that I hadn’t been back for a few years and I was shocked when they remodeled it and it looked up to snuff with O’Hare. I always felt Midway was like the little brother who never felt as good as his first-string football player of an older brother. Now when I go to Midway you can’t go all the way up to the gates without a ticket and you don’t expect a goat around every corner, but sometimes when I am going to my gate I remember what it felt like the first time I went there.

The airport isd really cool. I actually went to this airport when I traveled to Pennsylvania.It’s waiting time is reasonable and quick. We even got to our destination faster than what we were suppost to.

O’Hare is nicer, closer and usually cheaper.

Midway Airport is located on the Soutwest Side of Chicago, on Cicero Avenue just south of the Stevenson Expressway (I-55). It is much easier to get around than O’Hare, parking is much closer to the terminals, and traffic (both auto and pedestrian) is much lighter than that at it’s larger cousin to the north. I highly recommend flying out of Midway instead of O’Hare whenever possible, especially if one lives south of the Eisenhower Expressway.

I got so lost trying to find this airport, and my friend, who I was driving there, missed his flight. Unlike O’Hare, there aren’t any huge signs anywhere to tell you where it’s at. One little tiny sign, that if you blink, you will miss it! It’s very unfortunate, too, because it looked like a nice enough airport. But that was the first & last time I went there. After that, I avoided it at all costs!
