Galeries Lafayette

In the evening take the elevator to the top floor then climb the stairwell to the rooftop. You will be awestruck by the view of the “City Of Lights”. Wish I had been more familiar with my camera settings at the time.
Galeries Lafayette is a throwback to the golden age of department stores when people would actually “dress-up” to spend the day shopping and out to lunch!
The domed ceiling is a work of art!

This place is worth visiting for the architecture and the absolutely fabulous stained-glass dome. But if you live in the United States, you are going to find pretty much the same merchandise you find at medium to high-end department stores in the U.S., only you are going to pay more for it at Galeries Lafayette because of the discrepancy between the euro and the dollar. Go, look, but don’t buy.

...but it’s worth a visit just to see the interior architecture.

Wonderful interior, and I’m not just talking about the clothes.

The inside (near beauty) is amazing. You can see the wonderful decoration and the glass dome.

Good shopping too ;)

A very well known store for haute couture and other fancy dressing. It can be expensive… but well worth it. Else just go there to see the glass roofing.
