Visalia

I had a job down there for Spring Break of 2007. Didn’t get to see a lot of the town, so I can’t recommend it. I made $1000 for driving a company’s truck down there, and for working 10 hours. Pretty sweet deal.

My friend and I listened to every Beatles album in chronological order on the way down. Not including Anthology, since that isn’t really an album, or Love because it wasn’t released when we went down there.

I am removing Visalia from my list of places that I want to visit. The reason is this: I had a friend who was living there, and I thought that I might have an opportunity to go and visit him there. He was planning on living there through late May. A few weeks ago he told me that he had come back home.

His married daughter had had a serious medical problem, so he and his wife came back home. His wife will stay here. He says that he will return to Visalia, just briefly, to pack up their things, get the utilities shut off at their apartment and tie up a few loose ends.

With him not living there, I see little to no likelihood of me visiting Visalia in the foreseeable future.

I don’t want to say bad about my hometown, so I won’t, because I love visiting home, but it’s not exciting to visit unless you know people there. And avoid it during the summer, it gets over 100 degrees.

I lived in visalia when I was younger. I now live in Lemoore. This whole area is horrid. =)

It’s a nice place to spend the day if you like antique shopping.

I’m actually from Tulare, but Visalia is only 5 mins away…. Both of these areas suck ass… Only reason to stay here is if you’re passing through… I can’t wait til I can afford to move out of here!!!

A bit “po-dunk”? Sure. Very friendly? Absolutely! Is there fun to be had? As long as your needs are simple. If you need more, it’s centrally located – you can get to a big city, ocean beach or mountain stream in no time at all.
