Hat Yai aka: Hatyai,Haad Yai,Had Yai

the shopping is good but overall it didn’t seem that special (to me). maybe it’s more exciting if you like nightlife or you live here and like goods from china and malaysia. i think if you’re close by it’s worth a visit but i can’t see myself driving 12 hours or flying just to save a few baht when prices are pretty good in bangkok.
i will say that dim sum we had (it was either chok dee dimsum or haa dao dimsum) was delicious.

Been to Hatyai (southern Thailand) countless times. For their massages, and good food. In recent months, some muslim militant group has been causing unstability there … for those whom wants to travel there, just a note … be extra cautious. Otherwise, its a nice town to visit.
