Best. Place. Ever.
I live right next to the one in Lombard,
but it’s just not the same as the one downtown.
They had to tone down on the ‘tude because people complained.
Which totally makes me want to punch people in the face.
But, it’s still fun. :]

I went in here for a quick bite today, I love Ed’s, it’s always fun to be here. I wish I could take it with me when I leave town.

Biscuit was my waiter. He makes a wicked butterscotch malt.

One of the many stops on a nationwide quest for the perfect chocolate malt, this place is at the top of the list for artery-clogging goodies. Bloody-rare Cheeseburgers and some hot salty fries tie together the tasty treat experience into a nifty little platter experience at this classic Hop. 50’s style at it’s best… a “must visit” kinda’ joint for any local in downtown Chi. Don’t be afraid to share here; portions are big and I have not finished an order of anything yet. Yummy goodness with tons of memorabilia to talk about… definately the “mack daddy-o” of diners downtown if you are into this sort of retro place.

But be careful if your waitress is REALLY having a bad day

Yeah, you can be insulted good and plenty, but the food was so so at best. I mean, you can go to a greasy spoon and not be insulted, right? I guess the gimmick would’ve worked better on me if the food had been the best ever. It was not.

My whole class enjoyed it, the food was good!

This place was so fun, I love how they do the dancing and how everyone is so rude to you but it is all in good fun!

Definitely a great dining experience that must be enjoyed in a group. Reasonable prices, decent food, unique wait staff. An adventure waiting to happen if you let yourself go with it.
